As part of the Balls Food Stores family, we offer the stability of a locally owned company with deep community roots.This is a great fit for someone who enjoys working alongside their team, takes pride in maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked department, and is committed to providing outstanding guest service every day.Key Responsibilities & Job DutiesProvide friendly, helpful, and respectful guest service while creating a positive shopping experienceKeep the dairy department organized, fully stocked, and operating efficiently each daySupport, train, and coach teammates while promoting a productive, team-oriented work environmentAssist with department scheduling to maintain appropriate staffing levelsOrder, receive, stock, and rotate dairy products to maintain freshness and minimize shrinkMonitor inventory levels to ensure proper product availabilityBuild and maintain attractive, well-merchandised displays that maximize salesEnsure accurate pricing, signage, markdowns, and product presentationMonitor product quality, code dates, and department conditions throughout the dayMaintain a clean, organized, and safe department while following all food safety and sanitation standardsEnsure proper operation and routine care of refrigeration equipment and department toolsStay informed on products, promotions, and seasonal items to better assist guests and support teammate knowledgeCommunicate clearly with teammates, store leadership, guests, and vendorsSupport opening, closing, stocking, merchandising, and daily department operations as neededFollow all company policies and procedures, including safety, attendance, and loss prevention standardsParticipate in required training and ongoing developmentOther job duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsRequired: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experienceRequired: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysRequired: Previous experience in grocery, dairy, retail, or food service, including experience managing day-to-day department operationsPreferred: Experience with ordering, inventory management, merchandising, scheduling, and shrink controlPreferred: Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and refrigerated product handling standards
