The duties of this position may involve operating machines for long periods and repetitive bending and lifting of 50 lbs frequently. Shifts may vary during a week and days off may not be consecutive. The Standby Operator covers where there is the most need. There is no guarantee of what shift will be worked week to week but team member will be scheduled weekly.
Job Responsibilities:
Daily Operations of filling and packaging equipment in a production line setting.
Operations of equipment in key areas of dairy processing.
Compliance with New York State regulations.
Adherence to all plant GMP and sanitation policies.
Compliance with all OSHA regulations as well as 100% plant safety policies.
Following all guidelines and rules associated with local unions CBA.
Operate a variety of tools and equipment; performs general plant cleaning and grounds maintenance.
Maintain and complete required environmental and production paperwork. Accurate documentation.
Establish and maintain working relationships with external agencies (sanitation authorities, equipment vendors, etc).
Support SQF by completing job tasks and maintaining the work area in a sanitary manner.
Maintain positive relationships with plant supervisors and managers.
General:
Perform above functions in assigned areas of responsibility.
Perform assigned duties with minimal supervision.
Respond and perform assigned duties in a timely manner.
Perform assigned duties following "GOOD MANUFACTURING PRACTICES".
Attend Daily Production Meeting if required.
Maintain records and logs as required.
Support change over and start up of assigned area.
Attend all mandatory training.
Education and Experience:
GED or High School Diploma.
Prior experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
Basic computer skills preferred.
Excellent troubleshooting experience.
Ability to work well with people.
Communication skills are a must.
Multitasking individual.
Ability to work independently.
Physical Requirements:
Standing: Long periods (a minimum of 8+ hours).
Sitting: Occasionally for short periods.
Walking: Long periods.
Bending: Frequently.
Lifting: Heavy (50+ lbs) frequently.
Carrying: Heavy (40-60 lbs) frequently distance.
Pushing/Pulling: under 75 lbs without assistance frequently.
