The Colleges of the Fenway (COF) Dance Ensemble Coordinator is responsible for working with the Director of the COF Dance program to provide administrative support for a co-curricular dance program that serves close to 300 students from across the five member institutions: Emmanuel College, MCPHS, Massachusetts College of Art and Design, Simmons University and Wentworth Institute of Technology.
This is a part-time stipend position, approximately 6 hours/week, Mid-August through Early-May, stipend of $5,700.
1) Concert Production
Work with Director of Dance to plan show order
Organize and place costume orders, which includes keeping accurate records, troubleshooting credit card issues and distributing receipts to Director of Performing Arts
Attend technical, dress rehearsals, and performances
Act as backstage manager during the performances
2) Student Leadership E-board
Oversee E-board posts on Instagram, monitor daily for professionalism and accuracy
Work with E-board and Director of Performing Arts to plan and attend end-of-year student gala
Advise student E-board activities in partnership with the Dance Director and attend meetings at least once/semester. Support E-board as needed in activities which include fundraising, elections, and social media
3) Program Administration
Input classes and rehearsal time slots in Mindbody or other registration platform.
Provide feedback during student choreography feedback sessions.
Co-lead Composition and Pedagogy workshops for student choreographers.
Respond to each student choreographer with acceptance/rejection letters
Support the Director of Performing Arts in reporting/database management
Contribute content to website dance pages and maintain regular updates
Work closely with the Director of Performing Arts to oversee COF Dance accounting
4) Events
Working with Director of Performing Arts and Director of Dance, plan and attend Dance Conference
Other Events - attend Gala, Open House, Fall Semester Alumni Reception
5) Qualifications
2-5 years of experience in concert production and promotion.
Highly organized and efficient.
Strong communications skills with the ability to adapt communication style to students, staff, parents and upper administrators as appropriate.
BA or equivalent degree or experience.
1-3 years experience administering a college dance program or dance studio.
