We are seeking a Data Conversion Specialist to support data migration and conversion activities for enterprise technology implementations. This role will be responsible for data extraction, transformation, cleansing, validation, reconciliation, and loading, ensuring the successful migration of HR data across systems.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Salesforce Data Cloud (Data 360), Workday, SAP, and enterprise data migration/conversion processes, along with strong experience using ETL/ELT tools.
Key Responsibilities
Data Conversion & Migration
Lead end-to-end data conversion activities for HR technology implementations and system upgrades.
Perform data profiling, extraction, cleansing, transformation, enrichment, validation, and reconciliation.
Develop and execute data mapping and transformation processes.
Design and develop ETL/ELT processes for SAP-to-Workday data migrations.
Create Source-to-Target Mapping (STTM) documents and detailed transformation rules.
Prepare Workday-compatible load files using EIBs and Workday data templates.
Support tenant data loads in collaboration with Workday Functional Consultants.
Data Quality & Validation
Perform data reconciliation and resolve data quality issues.
Establish and implement data quality controls throughout the migration lifecycle.
Validate migrated data using reconciliation reports and business sign-off processes.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve data conversion issues.
Ensure data is accurate, complete, consistent, and ready for downstream business processes.
Testing & Deployment
Support data conversion testing cycles, including mock conversions, SIT, UAT, and production cutovers.
Partner with technical and functional teams to prepare data for testing and deployment.
Troubleshoot migration issues during SIT, UAT, Go-Live, and post-production stabilization.
Support cutover planning, mock conversions, deployment activities, and post-production support.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Partner with HR, Technology, business stakeholders, and Workday Functional Consultants to ensure data accuracy and migration readiness.
Work closely with functional and technical teams to understand source-system data and target-system requirements.
Communicate data quality issues, conversion risks, dependencies, and remediation plans.
Support business validation and obtain stakeholder sign-off on migrated data.
Documentation & Governance
Document conversion requirements, source-to-target mappings, transformation rules, and validation results.
Maintain documentation related to data conversion processes and migration decisions.
Ensure compliance with data governance, privacy, security, and data protection standards.
Follow established controls and processes for handling sensitive HR data.
Required Skills & Experience
Proven experience in enterprise data migration and data conversion.
Hands-on experience with Salesforce Data Cloud (Data 360).
Experience with HR technology platforms, particularly Workday and/or SAP.
Strong experience with ETL/ELT tools and processes.
Experience with data extraction, transformation, cleansing, enrichment, validation, and reconciliation.
Experience developing Source-to-Target Mapping (STTM) documents and transformation rules.
Experience preparing and loading data into Workday, including EIBs and Workday data templates.
Experience supporting SIT, UAT, mock conversions, cutover, and Go-Live activities.
Strong understanding of data quality, governance, privacy, and security requirements.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
