Role Summary
We are seeking a Junior Data Analyst to join a high-visibility analytics team focused on customer purchasing behavior and retail performance. This role is ideal for an early-career professional eager to apply data analysis skills in a business-facing environment within the retail or consumer goods space.
In this position, you will analyze customer and promotional data to uncover trends, measure performance, and support strategic decisions. You will partner closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors, translating data into clear insights that drive product performance and in-store success.
Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze customer purchasing and promotional data to identify trends and opportunities across products and regions
  • Support business decision-making by delivering insights on sales performance and promotional effectiveness
  • Partner with internal teams to provide data-driven recommendations for merchandising and marketing strategies
  • Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to track key performance metrics
  • Interpret and communicate data findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Collaborate with vendor partners to provide analytics on product performance within retail environments
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency across reporting and analysis
  • Participate in structured training and onboarding to learn proprietary systems and data platforms
Key Requirements
  • 1–2 years of experience in data analysis or business analysis, ideally in retail, consumer goods, or sales analytics
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Analytics, Business, or a related field
  • Experience analyzing customer, sales, or promotional data to support business decisions
  • Background in retail, grocery, or consumer packaged goods strongly preferred (e.g., Walmart, Kroger, Whole Foods, Sam’s Club, CPG brands)
  • Exposure to data aggregation tools such as IRI, Nielsen, NPD, or similar platforms (preferred, not required)
  • Familiarity with loyalty or customer behavior data is a plus
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills, with a focus on insights rather than heavy technical tooling
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present findings clearly
