Description

The ETSU College of Nursing invites applications for a fully onsite full-time Data Analyst to provide centralized support for data management, analytics, reporting, and assessment activities for the College of Nursing and the College of Health Sciences.

This position is responsible for collecting, validating, analyzing, and reporting institutional, accreditation, enrollment, and student outcomes data to support regulatory compliance, strategic planning, continuous improvement, and operational decision-making. The role develops standardized reporting processes, dashboards, and data tracking tools while ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across multiple academic programs and reporting systems.

Work Arrangement: This is a 100% onsite position. Employees are required to work from our office during scheduled business hours. Remote and hybrid work arrangements are not available.

Work Authorization: Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position now or in the future.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of data analytics, reporting methodologies, database management, and data visualization tools.
  • Knowledge of accreditation, assessment, regulatory reporting, and higher education data practices preferred.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis, forecasting, and performance measurement techniques.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, administrators, and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to collect, validate, interpret, and present complex data in a clear and meaningful manner.
  • Ability to develop dashboards, reports, spreadsheets, and data tracking systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and reporting requirements simultaneously.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion with sensitive student and institutional information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other reporting, database, and data visualization software applications.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Public Health, Social Work, Health Administration, Statistics, or a related field that includes training in data analysis, research methods, or program evaluation.
  • Two (2) to four (4) years of experience in data analysis, reporting, assessment, institutional research, or related analytical work.
  • Experience working with databases, reporting systems, spreadsheets, and data visualization tools.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Data Analytics, Public Health, Social Work, Health Administration, Statistics, or a related field that includes training in data analysis, research methods, pr program evaluation.
  • Experience working in higher education, healthcare, nursing education, or academic accreditation environments.
  • Experience with accreditation and regulatory reporting processes, including organizations such as Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and the Tennessee Board of Nursing (TN BON).
  • Experience developing dashboards and data visualizations using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with institutional research, outcomes assessment, or student success analytics.
  • Experience working with large datasets, data integration, and reporting systems within a complex organizational environment.

Physical Demands

  • Sitting for extended periods of time at a computer or workstation.
  • Frequent typing or keyboard use.
  • Visual acuity to read printed and electronic materials.
  • Hearing to distinguish sounds (phone calls, alarms, etc.)
  • Repetitive wrist or arm movements.
  • Remaining in one position for extended periods.

College of Nursing Overview

The College of Nursing is part of the University's Academic Health Sciences Center, which also includes the James H. Quillen College of Medicine, the Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy, the College of Public Health, and the College of Health Sciences.
