About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and skilled data analytics contractor to join our client's team in the finance sector. In this role, you will contribute to the modernization and implementation of finance systems, lead data engineering projects, and manage end-to-end delivery processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead finance systems implementation or modernization programs.
• Collaborate with Controllers, finance teams, and actuaries to support finance transformation efforts.
• Manage end-to-end delivery processes, including requirements, design, build, testing, implementation, and delivery.
• Develop strong SQL and ETL solutions for data transformation, profiling, and validation.
• Create and manage element-level critical data element traceability across multiple systems.
• Work with modern data platforms such as Databricks and Azure-based environments.
• Communicate effectively with senior stakeholders, managing workstreams and coordinating remediation efforts.

Requirements

• Finance domain expertise, including experience with subledgers, general ledger hierarchies, accounting engines, and valuation systems.
• Strong data engineering skills, including SQL, ETL development, and data transformation.
• Experience with modern data platforms like Databricks and Azure.
• 6-9 years of relevant experience in data analytics or finance systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with mainframe datasets and complex source-system environments.
• Hands-on experience with medallion architecture.
