Data / Analytics Engineer

This is a contingent position based upon contract win.

SkyePoint Decisions is seeking a Data/Analytics Engineer to join our team supporting a federal customer. This position is contingent on contract win.

This person engineers data pipelines, models, quality controls, and analytics capabilities that transform customer operational, development, security, and assessment data into reliable information for automation, monitoring, and decision support. 

This is a remote position. 

Responsibilities:

• Identify authoritative data sources and define ingestion, transformation, storage, access, retention, and quality requirements. 
• Develop automated data pipelines and reusable data services supporting workflow, security, ATO, and operational automation. 
• Design data models, schemas, mappings, validation rules, lineage, metadata, and data-quality controls. 
• Create analytics datasets, metrics, dashboards, and reporting components that expose status, trends, exceptions, and decision-support information. 
• Integrate data capabilities with APIs, customer repositories, approved cloud services, and DevSecOps workflows. 
• Apply access controls, logging, encryption, and other security requirements to data solutions in collaboration with security personnel. 
• Automate testing and monitoring of data pipelines and document designs, dependencies, operating procedures, and data definitions. 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Data Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Analytics, Engineering, or related field; 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience developing data pipelines, transformations, models, analytics, or reporting capabilities in enterprise or cloud environments. 
• Proficiency with SQL and at least one programming/scripting language used for data engineering. 
• Experience with data quality, lineage, access controls, automated testing, and integration with APIs or operational systems. 
• Ability to obtain a 6c Public Trust. At least an active Secret clearance is highly preferred.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
