Responsibilities:

Position Overview

 

We are seeking an experienced Data Analytics Specialist / Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a classified government contract. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership in the design, development, integration, and implementation of data analytics, visualization, and dashboard solutions across the customer's complex data landscape.

 

This role will work across multiple customer organizations and mission areas, partnering with government stakeholders, mission owners, data engineers, developers, and other technical teams to transform disparate data into actionable insights. The Data Analytics Specialist will leverage analytics tools, frameworks, and toolkits to improve data interoperability, standardization, discoverability, accessibility, and shareability across the customer’s environment and with its IC partners.

 

The ideal candidate combines strong hands-on analytics and visualization expertise with the ability to operate effectively in a highly collaborative, mission-focused, and classified environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

• Serve as a Data Analytics SME supporting the design, development, deployment, and sustainment of enterprise analytics capabilities across the customer's data landscape.
• Analyze complex, heterogeneous datasets to identify trends, relationships, anomalies, and mission-relevant insights.
• Design and develop intuitive, scalable dashboards, visualizations, analytic products, and decision-support tools tailored to diverse mission and leadership requirements.
• Translate complex business and mission requirements into technical analytics solutions, data products, visualization strategies, and measurable outcomes.
• Collaborate with multiple customer organizations and mission stakeholders to identify opportunities to integrate and standardize analytics capabilities across organizational boundaries.
• Coordinate with other government and contractor offices to promote adoption and integration of common analytics tools, data standards, frameworks, and IC Data Ecosystem toolkits.
• Support efforts to improve data interoperability and shareability across the customer and its IC partners.
• Develop and implement repeatable approaches for integrating data from disparate systems, repositories, platforms, and organizational domains.
• Identify data quality, governance, metadata, accessibility, and interoperability challenges and recommend solutions to improve the overall analytics environment.
• Help establish and enforce standards for analytics development, dashboard design, data visualization, data products, and analytic workflows.
• Evaluate emerging analytics and visualization technologies and recommend capabilities that can improve mission effectiveness and operational efficiency.
• Develop prototypes and proof-of-concept solutions to demonstrate new analytics capabilities and accelerate adoption.
• Work closely with data engineers and platform teams to ensure analytics solutions are appropriately integrated with underlying data architectures and pipelines.
• Support the development of reusable analytic components, templates, visualization standards, and toolkits that can be leveraged across multiple organizations.
• Document analytics solutions, data dependencies, methodologies, technical requirements, and implementation approaches.
• Brief technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior government leadership, on analytics capabilities, findings, recommendations, and implementation strategies.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to customer organizations on data analytics, visualization, dashboarding, and data interoperability.
• Support cross-organizational working groups, technical exchanges, and communities of practice focused on enterprise analytics and IC data sharing.
• Ensure all activities comply with applicable security, classification, data handling, and customer policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related technical discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 12+ years of relevant experience in data analytics, business intelligence, data visualization, data engineering, or a related field; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D.
• Active TS or Q clearanceor higher is required.  Ability to obtain Q/SCI.
• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale data analytics and visualization solutions.
• Strong experience developing dashboards and interactive visualizations using one or more leading analytics/BI platforms.
• Experience working with large, complex, and heterogeneous datasets.
• Strong SQL skills and demonstrated ability to work with relational and/or analytical data platforms.
• Experience translating mission, operational, or business requirements into analytics solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to work across multiple organizations, technical teams, and stakeholder groups.
• Experience integrating data and analytics capabilities across disparate systems and organizational environments.
• Strong understanding of data management concepts, including data quality, metadata, data governance, interoperability, data standards, and data sharing.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to operate independently as an SME while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Qualifications

 

• Experience supporting the Intelligence Community, Department of Energy, or other U.S. Government mission environments.
• Experience with IC data-sharing initiatives, enterprise data platforms, or mission data ecosystems.
• Experience with data interoperability frameworks, common data models, metadata standards, APIs, or data exchange mechanisms.
• Experience with cloud-based analytics and data platforms, including AWS, Azure, or other government cloud environments.
• Experience developing reusable analytics frameworks, toolkits, APIs, or enterprise data products.

Target Salary Range: $146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
