This position reports to: Director of Information Technology
The Data and Reporting Analyst works closely with district administrators, instructional staff, and IT team members to identify data needs and deliver meaningful insights. The role requires frequent collaboration with various departments to ensure that data is accessible, accurate, and effectively used for decision-making. Because this position works with confidential student and staff information, a strong commitment to privacy and compliance with data protection regulations is essential.
Problem Solving
This position requires the ability to analyze complex datasets and resolve data inconsistencies that may affect reporting accuracy. The Analyst must evaluate competing data requests, prioritize tasks, and troubleshoot issues that arise from multiple systems. Errors in analysis or reporting can lead to misinformed decisions at the district level, making precision and attention to detail critical to success.
Freedom to Act
The Data and Reporting Analyst operates under the general direction of the Director of Information Technology but is expected to work independently in designing, producing, and validating reports and dashboards. The role exercises discretion in managing priorities and solving technical reporting issues while escalating matters related to policy, funding, or district-wide strategy to higher authority. Initiative, accountability, and the ability to manage multiple projects are key aspects of this position.
Physical Requirements
Work in this position is primarily sedentary, involving frequent sitting, computer use, and communication with others. Occasional standing, walking, and light lifting of items up to 50 pounds may be required when handling equipment or files. The position requires frequent use of hands for typing and data entry, as well as regular verbal and auditory communication.
