Overview
The Compliance Monitor ensures Vermont''s adherence to the four core protections of the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act (JJDPA) as reauthorized by the Juvenile Justice Reform Act (JJRA) of 2018:
This role conducts compliance monitoring across all facilities where youth may be held securely (e.g., police departments, court holding areas, juvenile/adult detention or correctional facilities), verify data, documents violations, and reports annually to the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP). The position collaborates closely with ASU leadership, legal, law enforcement, and the Department of Corrections to protect youth in custody and support federal funding compliance.

Environmental Factors
Duties are performed largely in a standard office setting, but private means of transportation should be available for required travel outside the office. The role involves intensive interaction with department officials who may advocate strongly for their programs. Required recommendations may be difficult because of competing interests and limited resources. Rapid response in the face of tight deadlines may be necessary, requiring some evening and weekend duty.
Minimum Qualifications
Master''s degree in business or public administration, statistics, or information technology field.
OR
Bachelor''s degree business or public administration, statistics, or information technology field AND one (1) year or more of data administration, business analysis, statistics, or design work.
OR
Four (4) years or more of data administration, business analysis, statistics, or design work.
