Description
The Antioch Police Department is seeking a highly skilled and analytical professional to support critical initiatives focused on organizational improvement, accountability, and constitutional policing. This unique position combines advanced data analysis, policy evaluation, and compliance monitoring to help guide departmental decision-making and support the implementation of court-mandated reforms and Department of Justice requirements. The ideal candidate will be able to translate complex data and regulatory requirements into meaningful recommendations, policies, and strategies that strengthen operations, improve performance, and support the Department's commitment to continuous improvement and effective service to the community.

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
Under direction of the police department, performs professional administrative and analytical work in support of City programs and initiatives; conducts research, collects and analyzes data, prepares reports and policy recommendations; monitors contracts and grants; provides statistical analysis of program performance; and serves as a resource to management, staff, community partners, and external agencies. Work involves interpreting complex data, developing policies and procedures, preparing Council-level reports, and assisting with organizational, compliance, and operational improvements.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
This position serves a dual analytical and policy-support function critical to court-mandated reform, Department of Justice (DOJ) compliance, and continuous improvement in constitutional policing. In addition to advanced statistical analysis, the position evaluates policy effectiveness, monitors compliance with a settlement agreement and DOJ requirements based on a Memorandum of Agreement, and translates complex data into actionable policy, training, and recommendations. This position is distinguished from traditional data analyst roles by its responsibility for policy evaluation, compliance monitoring, and reform implementation support in a policing environment.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in major coursework in Public Administration, Statistics, Economics, Political Science, Urban Studies, or a related field. Master's degree highly desirable.
Experience: Three (3) years of increasingly responsible professional experience in policy analysis, statistical/data analysis, program evaluation, or public administration. Experience with DOJ compliance monitoring, community-policing practices, or law enforcement data analysis is highly desirable.
