MNIT DNR provides comprehensive IT operations and support services, custom application development, and dedicated support functions to an organization that manages and conserves the state's natural resources in a way that creates a sustainable quality of life for all Minnesotans.
Job Summary
The Data & Applications System Supervisor provides strategic and operational leadership for MNIT DNR's application development, database administration, reporting, and systems integration functions. The role ensures the stability and long-term health of a large, diverse portfolio supporting all DNR divisions, including mission-critical business applications, financial systems, and data interfaces.
This Supervisor leads a multidisciplinary technical team that maintains and modernizes cloud-hosted, web-based, and database-driven systems; guides technical roadmaps and modernization priorities; strengthens team practices in automation, DevOps, reliability engineering, and cloud-native approaches; advances cloud optimization aligned with Azure and enterprise standards; and represents MNIT DNR in collaboration with PMO, MNIT Enterprise, Security, and DNR leadership to ensure well-planned, strategically aligned application work and a secure, reliable, and healthy application ecosystem built on strong relationships, trust, shared responsibility, and clear communication.
This position requires an employee to work onsite at 500 Lafayette Rd. St. Paul, Minnesota at least 50% of the time, with limited telework available. Telework eligibility depends on residence:
Candidates living in Minnesota or within 50 miles of the worksite in a bordering state (Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin) may telework up to 50%.
Minnesota residents living more than 50 miles from the worksite may be eligible to telework more than 50%.
Candidates living 50 miles or more from the worksite in a bordering state are not eligible for hire unless relocating within 50 miles.
