POSITION TITLE: Data Center Administrator III

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Data Center Manager is responsible for the overall operation, reliability, security, and efficiency of the organization's data center environments. This role oversees physical and virtual infrastructure, ensures compliance with regulatory and security requirements, manages capacity planning and disaster recovery readiness, and supports technical teams to deliver highly available and secure services. The Data Center Manager works closely with infrastructure, systems, and operations teams to maintain optimal performance while continuously evaluating new technologies to improve efficiency and reduce costs

LOCATION
  • Atlanta, GA. Some travel to data centers outside of Atlanta may be required.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise the installation, maintenance, upgrades, and ongoing operation of data center infrastructure, including physical hardware, power, cooling, and supporting software systems

Manage storage, distribution, and backup of enterprise data to ensure availability, integrity, and recoverability

Establish and enforce policies for data accessibility, data entry, and data storage in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements

Ensure the safety, security, and protection of customer and organizational data against unauthorized access, power failures, and malicious attacks

Maintain accurate documentation of system installations, upgrades, maintenance activities, and configuration changes

Plan and manage data center capacity, including forecasting growth and coordinating hardware and software upgrades

Oversee maintenance of data center equipment and facilities to ensure safe and reliable operations

Develop and maintain contingency, disaster recovery, and emergency response plans for outages, disruptions, or security incidents

Configure, manage, and analyze automated systems used to support data center operations

Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical and infrastructure-related issues

Provide operational and technical support to infrastructure and engineering teams

Respond to customer and internal stakeholder inquiries related to data center services

Ensure data center operations comply with applicable regulations, laws, and internal governance standards

Research emerging technologies and present recommendations that improve efficiency, resilience, or cost effectiveness

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience

5+ years of experience in data center operations, infrastructure management, or IT operations

3+ years of experience in a leadership or management role

Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, power, cooling, and physical security

Experience with backup, recovery, and business continuity planning

Proven ability to manage complex technical environments and respond to incidents or outages

Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience managing colocation or multi site data center environments
  • Familiarity with virtualization platforms, automated monitoring, and infrastructure management tools
  • Experience evaluating and implementing new data center technologies
  • Industry certifications such as CDCP, CDCS, ITIL, VMware, or cloud infrastructure certifications
  • Experience supporting regulated or compliance driven environments
