Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in Engineering, Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in industrial control system architecture as it pertains to protocols (e.g., BACnet, Modbus), and system administration.
  • 5 years of experience in industrial control system hardware (Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Relays, Industrial Emissions Directives (IEDs), IO modules) and their integration with IT security layers.
  • 5 years of experience in generating technical product specifications/requirements, conceptual schematics, and system architecture drawings to drive control system projects.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's or PhD in Engineering, Science, or a related field.
  • CISSP, GICSP, or GRID certification.
  • 5 years of experience working with mission-critical facilities (data centers, power plants, or manufacturing).
  • Experience leading Operational Technology (OT) Cyber Security maturation and improvement initiatives (e.g., secure by design principles, and segmentation strategies).
  • Experience with OT visibility and threat detection platforms (e.g., Claroty, Nozomi, Dragos, Tenable OT, Crowdstrike etc.).
  • Experience in programming/scripting in Python, Golang, Java, or a similar language.

Google is seeking a Data Center Control Systems Engineer to join our team and act as a technical leader in the design and strategy of our global data center infrastructure.

In this role, you will leverage your deep expertise to define the future of our complex, mission-critical facilities. You will be an expert in facility control systems and have a proven track record of influencing cross-functional teams and driving long-term technical roadmaps.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $144,000-$209,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Develop scope, requirements for cyber-security initiatives to drive the design, implementation, testing of secure, resilient operational technology (OT) security solutions.
  • Create design documents, implement solutions, and conduct lab and on-site testing of cyber-security solutions.
  • Review new control system infrastructure initiatives to embed cyber-security requirements into the life-cycle from initial design through testing to deployment.
  • Collaborate as a technical liaison between cross-functional teams to resolve design, integration, and deployment issues in mission-critical environments.
  • Perform sustaining and life cycling activities during pre and post deployment, and operations for cyber-security solutions and OT infrastructure components (e.g. SCADA/HMI servers, clients, software) and identify opportunities for continuous improvement and maturation of the OT environment to drive risk reduction.
