Data Center Deployment Operations Manager

Location: Wink, TX

Day shift, 8-5; must flex to nights as business needs require

POSITION SUMMARY

The Data Center Deployment Operations Manager will be responsible for the overall execution, workforce management, safety compliance, quality and operational success of various deployments supporting a hyperscale data center campus in West Texas. This individual will serve as the primary point of contact for customer leadership, oversee all shift personnel, and ensure deployment milestones, quality standards, and reporting requirements are met.

This leadership role will be responsible for various deployment activities starting with a structured cabling team spanning across day and night shifts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide overall leadership of the deployment program and onsite workforce.
• Serve as the primary liaison between customer leadership and Apex management.
• Manage daily operations across multiple shifts and work streams.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, attendance, and workforce planning.
• Monitor productivity, quality, safety, and project deliverables.
• Coordinate onboarding, training, and workforce readiness activities.
• Conduct weekly and monthly operational reviews.
• Track and report project KPIs, workforce metrics, and deployment progress.
• Escalate and resolve operational, personnel, and customer concerns.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, site access, and operational requirements.
• Provide program leadership and manage Shift Leads and deployment teams.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience managing large technical, infrastructure, telecommunications, field service or deployment teams. Data center experience is a major plus.
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Experience coordinating multiple work streams in fast-paced environments.
• Ability to lead teams across day and night operations.
• Experience with operational reporting and KPI management.
• Strong safety mindset and commitment to workforce accountability.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous hands-on background as a data center technician, structured cabling installer, or field technician, with progressive advancement into supervisory and management roles.
• Direct experience performing and then overseeing structured cabling, fiber and copper installation, testing, and termination work.
• Experience supporting hyperscale data center campuses or large-scale colocation environments
• familiarity with AI and high-density data center environments, including GPU cluster deployments, high-speed interconnect, and liquid-cooled infrastructure.
