About the Opportunity
GOR Group is partnering with a global leader in technology infrastructure and mission-critical environments, to identify a Safety Manager to support large-scale data center construction projects.
This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) performance across complex construction sites. The Project Safety Manager will serve as the onsite safety leader, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, client expectations, and company standards while fostering a proactive safety culture that protects employees, contractors, and project stakeholders.
The ideal candidate is an experienced construction safety professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, has a strong presence in the field, and is passionate about developing teams, preventing incidents, and continuously improving safety performance.
Position Details
Location: New Albany, Ohio (Onsite Daily)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 2nd Shift (3:30 PM - 12:00 AM)
Supervisory Responsibility: Direct oversight of project-assigned EHS personnel
Travel: Ability to support future data center projects nationwide as part of a mobile deployment team
Key Responsibilities
Lead Site Safety Operations
- Serve as the primary EHS leader for assigned data center construction projects.
- Partner closely with project leadership to promote a strong safety culture and maintain compliance with company, client, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct daily site walks, audits, inspections, and safety observations.
- Identify hazards, implement corrective actions, and proactively mitigate risks before incidents occur.
- Maintain a visible field presence and lead by example through active engagement with project teams.
Develop & Mentor Safety Professionals
- Lead and support EHS Specialists, Safety Coordinators, and site safety personnel.
- Delegate responsibilities, manage schedules, and drive professional development initiatives.
- Deliver onboarding, safety orientation, and ongoing training programs for employees, subcontractors, and visitors.
- Coach field leadership and workforce teams on safe work practices and hazard recognition.
Incident Prevention & Risk Management
- Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses (RCA).
- Develop and implement corrective and preventive action plans.
- Monitor safety trends and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Support emergency response planning and incident management activities.
EHS Program Administration
- Manage site-level EHS documentation, reporting, safety metrics, and compliance records.
- Maintain Safety Data Sheet (SDS) inventories and required regulatory documentation.
- Prepare reports and communicate safety performance metrics to leadership.
- Ensure project activities align with corporate EHS policies, procedures, and client requirements.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the primary EHS point of contact for project teams, subcontractors, client representatives, and corporate leadership.
- Participate in project meetings, safety reviews, audits, and leadership discussions.
- Build strong working relationships that reinforce safety expectations and accountability throughout the project lifecycle.
Support National Data Center Growth
- Contribute to the expansion of our client's national data center safety program.
- Bring consistency, best practices, and safety leadership to new project locations as business needs evolve.
- Support standardization of EHS processes and continuous improvement initiatives across multiple project sites.
Required Qualifications
Leadership & Communication
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop safety professionals and field personnel.
- Strong coaching, relationship-building, and team development skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, from craft personnel to executive leadership.
- Strong conflict resolution and decision-making capabilities.
Safety & Technical Expertise
- Extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations, construction safety standards, and industry best practices.
- Strong background in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and hazard mitigation.
- Experience developing and implementing EHS programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of contractor safety management, process safety, and risk assessment methodologies.
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Technology & Administrative Skills
- Proficiency with:

- Strong organizational and reporting capabilities with attention to detail.
Preferred Background
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive EHS leadership experience within the construction industry.
- Experience supporting large-scale mission-critical, industrial, manufacturing, or data center construction projects.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-growth project environments.
- Experience leading project-based safety teams and managing multiple stakeholders.
Required Certifications
Preferred Certifications
- OSHA 500 or OSHA 510
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
- Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
- Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST)
- Safety Trained Supervisor Construction (STSC)
- Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) Certification
- Equivalent EHS certifications will be considered
