Overtime may include holidays, evenings, and weekends.EHS ManagerThe onsite Environmental, Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for overseeing all EHS functions for a newly built hyperscale data center within a campus setting in Barstow, TX. The EHS Manager will establish and implement site‑specific safety plans, policies, and procedures to protect the safety and health of employees, customers, contractors, and visitors to the data center campus as well as the facilities and equipment on campus. Additionally, they will oversee sustainability initiatives and will ensure proper reporting of those programs, while promoting an overall culture of safety across the campus.Primary Responsibilities of the EHS ManagerDevelop, implement, and update site‑specific Safety PlansDevelop, implement, and update site‑specific Emergency Action PlansDevelop and implement site safety training plans and provide training to all data center staff with continual assessment of training effectivenessDevelop site‑specific safety orientation for all contractors and visitors to the data centerSchedule and conduct site safety audits and inspections to identify hazards in the workplaceSchedule and conduct Emergency Action Plan drills to ensure preparedness and complianceComplete comprehensive reports of audit and inspection, including corrective action plans to ensure compliance and mitigationsEstablish and lead the Site Safety CommitteeEstablish the Site Safety Champions programEstablish the site First Responder team and training requirements for the teamInvestigate and analyze work‑related incidents, accidents, injuries, illnesses, and near misses and implement measures to prevent recurrenceAnalyze job and activity EHS risk scenarios to determine their potential impact. Ensure that all Job and Task Hazard Analyses are completed prior to the start of work assignments to mitigate hazardsSupport EHS submissions for customer SOQs and RFQsReview General Contractor Project‑Specific Safety Plans for compliance with customer requirements, OSHA, NFPA and EPA standardsFirst point of contact for incident escalation in the event of a safety incident in the data center; support and advise data center leadership, client, and Salute VO of Global EHS during incident investigations and root cause analysesMaintain environmental permits/programs to ensure compliance with all applicable agenciesTrack universal waste recyclingProvide monthly, quarterly, and annual sustainability reporting to the site manager and customer as requiredMaintain frequent interaction with VP of Global EHS, Data Center management, representatives of federal and state agencies, and other safety professionalsAll other EHS duties and initiatives as assignedAdditional AccountabilitiesTrack training compliance for data center staff completion of 100% for required safety training, third‑party safety instruction, and maintain a database of all required safety certificationsMaintain 100% adherence to Salute safety culture and best safety practicesAdhere to behavioral‑based safety practicesEnsure adherence to all safety policies and procedures and requirementsRequired Qualifications, Skills, and ExperienceMinimum requirement : Associate's degree in Occupational Safety and Health5+ years of Safety Management ExperienceExperience creating site‑specific safety plans that encompass all OSHA requirementsExperience creating Emergency Action Plans following NFPA 1600 guidelinesExperience with Safety Management Systems which track incident safety metricsExperience compiling and managing key EHS performance indicatorsExperience with workers compensation claims and case managementExperience with universal waste managementExperience with commercial building operationsEffective verbal and written communication skillsExperience working in a team environment but comfortable working alone with little directionExperience working independently and within a group, excellent time management, strategic planning, and ability to pivot between competing priorities and situationsExperience building and fostering a culture of safety within an organizationStrong working knowledge of NFPA 70E and LOTO program requirementsStrong working knowledge in federal, state, and local EPA, OSHA and NFPA regulationsStrong working knowledge of incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective actionsStrong working knowledge of behavior‑based safety practicesFamiliarity with construction safety and net‑zero waste concepts and program initiativesProof of safety certification from BCSP, NASP or an affiliated college certification programProof of OSHA 30‑hour general or construction industry trainingProficient with Microsoft applicationsPreferred Qualifications, Skills, and ExperienceBachelor's degree in occupational safety and health or a field with a concentration in safetyExperience in changing management principlesExperience in datacenter safety managementMilitary veteran or retireeProficiency in conducting job hazard analysis for all job functions within a facilityPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 40 lbs.Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs to access elevated equipmentAbility to stand for long periods of time in various work environmentsAbility to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for equipment‑related tasksBasic physical fitness to respond quickly to emergency situations and navigate areas quicklyAbility to move quickly and efficiently within various work environments to troubleshoot issues or respond to emergenciesGood hand‑eye coordination and dexterity for working with small components and connectorsClear vision, with or without correction, to perform tasks requiring attention to detail and precision while wearing safety glassesAbility to differentiate between color‑coded warning signs, labels, and cablesAbility to work in environments with varying temperature conditions throughout the facilityAbility to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, or snowCapability to work in environments with elevated noise levels while wearing hearing protectionPossession of a valid driver's license for work‑related travel, as requiredPay Range and LocationThe salary for a Data Center Environmental Health & Safety Manager is $85,000 annually depending on experience, qualifications, location, and company size.The location is Barstow, TX.Site LocationWe operate a 24‑hour facility where work hours (shifts) are assigned as needed to ensure job functions are performed satisfactorily, compliance is maintained, and the company operates efficiently. Certain positions, as specified in your offer letter, may require working irregular hours, such as nights, weekends, overtime, alternating shifts, and under various conditions, including outdoor work during extreme weather or in hazardous environments.Compensation & Benefits DisclosureThe base pay range for this role is $85,000 annually. This range reflects a good‑faith estimate of what we reasonably expect to pay upon hire, based on factors such as skills, experience, education, and market/location.
