Data Center- IBM Specialist

Summary of Position:

As a Data Center Engineer specializing in IBM technologies, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation and optimization of our data center infrastructure in Noida. Your primary responsibility will be the management and maintenance of IBM systems, including UCS, ESXi, vCenter, Hyperflex, AS/400, AIX, and AS/400 LPAR. Leveraging your expertise, you will install, configure, and upgrade these systems as needed, ensuring they meet organizational requirements and performance standards.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain data center infrastructure, ensuring high availability and optimal performance of IBM systems.
• Install, configure, and upgrade UCS, ESXi, vCenter, Hyperflex, AS/400, AIX, and AS/400 LPAR systems as per organizational requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues related to IBM technologies in a timely manner.
• Monitor system performance and capacity, implementing necessary adjustments to ensure efficient operation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute data center projects and migrations.
• Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions utilizing TSM, NetBackup, and Cohesity.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior team members, fostering knowledge sharing and skill development.
• Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures, implementing necessary measures to safeguard data and infrastructure.
• Document system configurations, procedures, and best practices for knowledge sharing and future reference.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending innovative solutions to enhance data center efficiency and reliability.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in a similar role with a focus on IBM technologies.
• Proficiency in UCS, ESXi, vCenter, Hyperflex, AS/400, AIX, and AS/400 LPAR systems.
• Familiarity with Fabric Interconnect, Physical Servers, AIX OS, VxRail, TSM, IBM HMC, IBM TSM/FCM, NetBackup, and Cohesity.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a collaborative mindset.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities.
• Relevant certifications such as IBM Certified System Administrator or VMware Certified Professional (VCP) will be a plus.
