GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Data Center Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations and maintenance of our data center facilities. This role requires an individual with a deep understanding of data center infrastructure, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage a team of technical professionals.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational Management
Ensure the data center operates at peak efficiency, maintaining uptime and performance standards.
Oversee the implementation and maintenance of data center policies, procedures, and best practices.
Monitor data center performance and infrastructure to identify and resolve issues promptly
Coordinate and manage routine maintenance, upgrades, and repairs of data center equipment.
Team Leadership
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of data center technicians and engineers.
Provide training and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Ensure effective communication and collaboration within the team and with other departments.
Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
Capacity Planning and Management
Plan and manage data center capacity, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently.
Monitor and forecast resource usage to anticipate future needs and challenges.
Work with stakeholders to plan for data center expansion or consolidation as required.
Security and Compliance
Implement and enforce security protocols to protect data center infrastructure and data.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and corporate policies.
Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
Vendor and Stakeholder Management
Manage relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure quality and cost-effective services.
Negotiate contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) with vendors.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide data center solutions that meet their needs.
