Data Center Server Operations Manager, Global Server Operations _corporate_fare_ Google _place_ Reston, VA, USA **Mid** Experience driving progress, solving problems, and mentoring more junior team members; deeper expertise and applied knowledge within relevant area. **Minimum qualifications:** + Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience. + 8 years of experience in computing infrastructure, networking, operating systems, or hardware. + 5 years of experience managing technical, vendor, contract management, or delivery teams. + Ability to work non-standard hours, including working weekends, night shifts, holidays and on shift-based schedules as required. **Preferred qualifications:** + Experience working in data center environments, including building and operating large-scale infrastructure, and network and compute architecture and lifecycle, and Linux/Unix system administration. + Experience with initiating and executing strategic initiatives in a global environment. + Experience leading operations in a 24x7 environment. + Excellent strategic problem-solving skills and experience managing remote teams. + Track record of leading and improving Environmental Health and Safety initiatives. + Demonstrate the ability to implement and drive the safety culture at the site, while fostering a various and collaborative team environment. **About the job** As a Server Operations Manager on the third-party data centers (3PDC)-EFS team, you will lead a team of Data Center Technicians within third-party facilities, ensuring Google’s sophisticated server, storage, and networking systems meet strict availability targets, service level agreements, and environmental safety standards at scale. In this role, you will oversee day-to-day operations and guide your team through the entire lifecycle of server and network hardware, including installation, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and decommissioning. Additionally, you will take charge of complex infrastructure deployments, manage project timelines, and develop robust contingency plans. As a people manager, you will be deeply invested in your team’s professional development and career growth while modeling teamwork attributes that positively impact site culture.
