Data Center Solution Architect - 3602571

Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Data Center Solution Architect position! This is a 6+ months contract and will be remote in United States. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C.

• Please note: This role requires travel to Buffalo, NY every 4-6 weeks (Sunday through Thursday).

What You'll Be Doing:

• Lead the design of comprehensive solution architectures spanning enterprise data centers, colocation facilities, and Microsoft Azure environments, with primary focus on data center architecture rigor including availability, resiliency tiers, capacity planning, and disaster recovery
• Architect scalable, resilient infrastructure solutions that support the migration of on-premises workloads to cloud (Azure) and colocation environments while ensuring operational supportability and compliance with enterprise standards
• Collaborate with domain leadership, enterprise architects, and infrastructure teams to translate business drivers and technical requirements into end-to-end solution designs aligned to architecture principles
• Define and document hosting patterns, fault domains, redundancy assumptions, connectivity strategies, and disaster recovery postures that meet RTO/RPO expectations across multi-environment landscapes
• Develop reusable reference architectures and standard patterns for common workload types, secure connectivity, network segmentation, and Azure landing zone alignment
• Participate in architecture governance activities, evaluating delivered solutions for quality, compliance, and alignment to enterprise architecture standards
• Engage with stakeholders across business, technology, and risk functions to clearly communicate architecture decisions, trade-offs, and implementation guidance in both technical and non-technical contexts
• Contribute to Agile team ceremonies and support delivery teams through solution design, testing, and deployment phases without becoming an implementation bottleneck

What You'll Need to Have:

• 5+ years of solution architecture or infrastructure architecture experience with demonstrated expertise in enterprise data center and colocation hosting models
• Strong architectural knowledge of Microsoft Azure platform foundations, including landing zone design areas (identity and access, network topology and connectivity, security, governance, and operations management)
• Proven ability to design for availability, resiliency, disaster recovery, and operational readiness with clear understanding of monitoring/telemetry requirements and lifecycle management
• Experience architecting secure connectivity and network segmentation patterns between on-premises, colocation, and cloud environments
• Strong documentation and visualization skills to produce architecture diagrams, dependency maps, data flows, and decision records that guide delivery teams
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels and influence technical direction through clear articulation of solution trade-offs
• Experience working in Agile/DevOps environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams including network, security, and platform engineering
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience (9+ years combined)

Preferred:

• Azure Solutions Architect certification or equivalent Azure architecture credentials
• Experience in financial services or regulated industries with strong operational rigor and compliance awareness
• Graduate degree in technical discipline

Pay Range: $70 - $75/hr
