Position: Data Center Technician

Location: Livermore, CA

Pay Rate: $30.00/hour

Schedule:

  • 2nd Shift, 1:00pm-9:30pm
  • MondayFriday (occasional weekend overtime required)

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Data Center Technician to support operations within an Integration Center environment. This role is responsible for handling, configuring, and preparing IT hardware for deployment, ensuring all equipment meets customer specifications. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically inclined, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Rack and stack servers, network equipment, and accessories using rack elevation diagrams
  • Read and interpret cable matrices; properly route and connect cables
  • Label cables and equipment according to customer standards
  • Track and manage assigned assets throughout project completion
  • Perform hardware upgrades
  • Unbox, configure, test, and record device information
  • Repackage and stage equipment for shipment
  • Build pallets and prepare shipments, ensuring all components are included
  • Maintain accurate inventory and system updates

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with rack fabrication or data center environment
  • Basic understanding of networking and server hardware
  • Proficiency with computer systems (Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.)

Skills & Requirements

  • Ability to read rack elevation and cable matrix documentation
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Adaptable in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing ladders
  • Manual dexterity for handling cables and equipment
  • Ability to operate pallet jacks and move equipment safely
