Job Summary
We are hiring Entry-Level Data Center Technicians to support the installation, maintenance, and organization of structured cabling and equipment within critical data center environments. This contract-to-hire opportunity provides hands-on training, mentorship, and a clear pathway for career growth in the telecommunications and low-voltage industry. Candidates with experience in skilled trades, construction, electrical work, cable installation, maintenance, or other hands-on technical fields are encouraged to apply. Technicians will contribute to large-scale infrastructure projects involving fiber optic cabling, equipment installation, cable management, and adherence to safety standards.
Job Responsibilities
Assist with cable infrastructure installation and fiber optic rough-in activities.
Perform cable management, including dressing, routing, and labeling of cables.
Support cable and fiber termination activities.
Install and secure customer equipment through rack and stack procedures.
Build server racks and follow rack elevation plans.
Install fiber tray systems, ladder racks, cabinets, and customer equipment.
Assist with infrastructure installations, including cable management systems, fiber trays, ladder racks, and power trays.
Receive materials and assemble hardware as required.
Support Outside Plant (OSP) fiber installations into data center environments.
Read and follow blueprints, drawings, and installation documentation.
Communicate professionally with team members, supervisors, and customers.
Follow all safety policies and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), housekeeping practices, and OSHA guidelines.
Job Requirements
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
Open to entry-level candidates with 0 2 years of data center, telecommunications, low-voltage, construction, electrical, or other skilled trades experience.
OSHA 10 certification preferred but not required.
Ability to read and follow installation drawings and project documentation.
Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow verbal and written instructions.
Must be able to work on ladders and/or scissor lifts.
Must be able to work in confined spaces when required.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move materials weighing up to 75 pounds.
Ability to stand and work on feet for the duration of a shift.
Basic hand tools required, including a multi-bit screwdriver, tape measure, snips, pliers (needle nose and channel lock), punch-down tool, flashlight, work boots (steel-toe or composite-toe), gloves, and tool pouch.
