Job Summary
We are hiring Data Center Technicians to support structured cabling installations, infrastructure hardware deployment, and data center operations within the telecom and low-voltage industry. This contract-to-hire opportunity is open to entry-level candidates with foundational cabling experience who are eager to develop their skills through hands-on work and mentorship. Technicians will primarily support projects in the Phoenix metropolitan area, with current work located in Avondale. Candidates must be willing to travel as needed for future project assignments, including travel to locations nationwide. This role requires flexibility to work extensive overtime and weekends on a consistent basis.
Job Responsibilities
Perform structured cabling installations, including fiber and copper cable rough-in, routing, and dressing
Terminate and test fiber and copper cabling under moderate supervision
Rack and stack network equipment, including server installations and rack elevations
Install infrastructure hardware, including ladder racks, fiber trays, cabinets, and related components
Read and interpret basic blueprints, installation standards, and project documentation
Assist with Outside Plant (OSP) fiber installation into data center environments
Receive, organize, and inventory materials and equipment
Assemble hardware components according to project specifications
Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment
Communicate effectively with team members, project leads, and supervisors
Travel to project sites as required and support deployments in various locations nationwide
Job Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required
Entry-level candidates considered; prior structured cabling or data center experience preferred
Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a data center, telecommunications, or commercial structured cabling environment preferred
Basic knowledge of fiber and copper cabling systems, termination methods, and testing practices
Familiarity with cable routing, dressing, and infrastructure installation
OSHA 10 certification preferred
Ability to read and follow technical documentation and installation standards
Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and in confined spaces
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move items up to 75 pounds with assistance as needed
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical work throughout the duration of a shift
Must provide and maintain basic hand tools, including a multi-bit screwdriver, snips, punch tool, pliers, tape measure, flashlight, tool pouch, and steel or composite toe work boots
Must be willing to work extensive overtime and weekends on a regular basis
Must be willing to travel throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area and nationally as business needs require
