Position Overview

We are seeking skilled and dependable Data Center Technicians to support a large-scale new construction data center project in Montgomery, Alabama. This role will be responsible for assisting with critical infrastructure deployment, structured cabling, hardware installation, and commissioning activities within a mission-critical environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience in data centers, telecommunications, low-voltage construction, or technology infrastructure projects and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.

Scope of Work

Structured Cabling Installation

• Pull, route, dress, and label copper and fiber optic cabling
• Install and manage cable pathways and cable tray systems
• Rack-to-rack and cabinet-to-cabinet connectivity
• Install patch panels and fiber enclosures
• Support fiber optic testing, troubleshooting, and certification

Rack & Equipment Installation

• Assemble and install server cabinets and network racks
• Mount and secure servers, switches, routers, and related hardware
• Install cable management systems and rack accessories
• Asset tagging and equipment inventory management

Infrastructure Support

• Install ladder racks, basket trays, and containment systems
• Assist with grounding and bonding activities
• Support power and low-voltage infrastructure installation
• Assist with commissioning, quality assurance, and turnover activities

Testing & Documentation

• Verify cable installations and connectivity
• Update project documentation and work orders
• Maintain accurate labeling and installation records
• Assist with punch-list completion and quality inspections

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all site safety requirements and construction protocols
• Adhere to data center security procedures
• Participate in daily safety meetings and toolbox talks
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment

Required Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in data center, telecommunications, low-voltage, or related construction environments
• Experience with copper and fiber optic cabling installations
• Ability to read construction drawings, cable schedules, and rack elevations
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow installation standards
• Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders when necessary

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous hyperscale or enterprise data center experience
• Fiber optic termination and testing experience
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
• Experience supporting large-scale construction or infrastructure projects

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel, and lift equipment
• Ability to work safely in active construction environments
