Rightech is working with a national data center construction systems integrator who is looking to add 12 Data Center Technicians to their team in Lenexa, KS.

This is a six week project.

The role will support the installation of structured cabling (fiber and copper) and equipment in critical data center environments. This opportunity offering hands-on training, mentorship, and a clear path for career growth in the telecom and low voltage industry. Technicians will work on projects involving fiber, cable management, basic rough in, patching and porting/dressing and following safety compliance.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Cable infrastructure and Fiber rough in.
  • Cable management (dressing and labeling).
  • Copper and Fiber knowledge
  • Porting / dressing cabling
  • Labeling
  • Fiber audit and loop testing
  • Install fiber tray, ladder rack, customer equipment, and cabinets.
  • Infrastructure installs (cable management, fiber tray systems, ladder racks, power trays).
  • Material receiving and hardware assembly.
  • Read and follow blueprints set for installation.
  • Follow written and oral communication displaying professionalism with colleagues and management.
  • Follow safety guidelines and protocols (Proper PPE, clean up jobsite, OSHA).

Job Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
  • 0-2 years of Data Center Technician experience.
  • Active OSHA 10 – preferred.
  • Physical Requirement: Must be able to work on a ladder and/or scissor lift, in confined spaces, lift to 50 pounds, and move up to 75 pounds. Ability to work on your feet for entire shift.
  • Tools: Basic Hand Tools: screwdriver (multi-Bit), tape measure, snips, pliers (needle nose and channel locks), punch down tool, flashlight, electric tape
  • PPE: Retention Style Hard hat, Level IV Cut Resistant Work Gloves, Safety Glasses, Level IV Safety vest, and work boots (steel toe or composite toe).
