ROLE AND PURPOSE:

To maintain student records and schedules and to handle all mainframe computer needs for counselors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

  • High School Diploma/GED from an accredited institution, required.

Experience:

  • Two years clerical experience.
  • Previous computer experience.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in all general office skills.
  • Be self-motivated, organized, and exhibit good interpersonal and telephone skills
  • Some school experience preferred
  • Knowledge of school activities and test days

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

I. ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT:

  • Maintain student demographic data on computer.

  • Make changes as directed by counselors or assistant principal(s)

  • Enter new students on the computer.

  • Maintain student grades on computer

  • Collects, organizes, and submits grade

  • Receives teachers' grade verification

  • Makes grade changes from teacher's reports of completed grades.

  • Assist front office

  • Back up attendance clerks

  • Back up substitute coordinator

  • Enroll/withdraw/transfer processing

  • Assists with processing grades, transcripts, progress reports and report cards

  • Maintain TREX Records and cumulative folders

  • Other duties as assigned.

II. SHARED RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Assists with the processing of student folders and transcripts
  • Assists with filing of folders
  • Assists in entering attendance as needed

  • Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including computers and peripherals; standard instructional equipment.
