About the PositionThe Data Consultant 1 is a temporary position with the Transportation Services Department. This position is responsible for collating customer service data gathered from areas across the unit and organizing that information into a searchable database. The database will be used by departmental employees and customer service representatives to easily find answers to questions posed by customers, visitors, vendors and other individuals and entities using resources supported by Transportation Services. Transportation Services supports all annual, quarterly, weekly, daily and hourly permit parking, event parking, vendor parking, parking lot maintenance and construction projects. Transportation Services also oversees Active Transportation programs including employee and student bus passes, biking programs, walking, carpooling, and other non-motorized means of transportation. This project would entail evaluating customer service data files pertaining to all departmental services, extracting that data, reviewing the data and compiling it into a narrative that can be searchable by topic and keyword. This position will also be responsible for reviewing departmental websites, checking for thoroughness and accuracy, and making recommendations for modifications and improvements. Included in the modifications and improvements will be the addition new of 'how-to' videos to educate our patrons on parking and transportation standards across campus. Other data driven projects may be assigned if time and resources are available. Required Qualifications + Excellent written and verbal communication skills + Completed college-level course work in computer science, basic statistics and associated math. + Demonstrated experience in compiling and evaluating data and report writing. + Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote. + Ability to take initiative and lead projects from start to completion. + Proficiency with video recording, editing and content creation. Preferred Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statics, computer science, or related field. + Demonstrated experience of completed work in this field.
