IDR is seeking a Data Conversion Developer to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Olympia, WA. This role involves supporting a critical data migration project within the public sector, focusing on large-scale data transformation and validation efforts. The position offers a chance to work on complex data workflows and automation in a collaborative environment.
Position Overview for the Data Conversion Developer:
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, data engineers, and project stakeholders to understand source-to-target mappings, business rules, and data transformation requirements.
- Design comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and reusable test cases for data conversion and ETL workflows.
- Validate data throughout the migration lifecycle by extracting, comparing, and analyzing data between source and target systems.
- Perform SQL-based data validation and reconciliation to ensure completeness, accuracy, and consistency of migrated data.
- Develop Python scripts to automate data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks where appropriate.
Requirements for the Data Conversion Developer:
- 5+ years experience with SQL and Azure SQL.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience using Python for data analysis, automation, or validation.
- Experience performing ETL testing and validating complex data migration processes.
- Ability to analyze large datasets and compare source and target data for accuracy.
- Strong understanding of data mapping, transformation logic, and data quality principles.
