Data Engineer – Azure Data Lake & Microsoft Fabric

Our client, a IT Services and Consulting company, is looking for a Senior. Data Governance Consultant – Data Quality & Metadata Management for their Newark, NJ/NY /Hybrid location.
 
Responsibilities:

• Looking for a Senior data governance consultant who can ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks and internal standards while supporting hybrid work delivery.
• The role coordinates cross functional partners to strengthen data quality, protection, and ethical AI usage, enabling trusted analytics and mapping solutions that support strategic decisions.
• Define and enforce data quality rules across ingestion pipelines and data catalogues.
• Set up and manage enterprise data catalogues in metadata, lineage, and asset classification.
• Recommend and implement data governance tools suited to the organization.
• Engage business users across units to co design governance guardrails and policies.
• Drive data mastering strategy from ingestion through to consumption.
• Establish data ownership and stewardship models across domains.

• Experience: 10to13Yrs
• 10 plus years in data governance, data management, or data engineering.
• Hands on with DQ rule definition, data catalogue setup and ingestion pipeline governance.
• Experienced in evaluating and deploying DG platforms like Purview, Collibra, Alation etc Strong communicator able to translate governance concepts for business stakeholders.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms Azure, AWS, or GCP and MDM principles.
• Preferred certifications include DAMA CDMP or equivalent data management credential and relevant privacy or compliance certification.
