Data Engineer – Onsite | Houston, TX

We’re seeking a hands-on Data Engineer to join a collaborative team supporting both cloud and on-prem infrastructure in the construction industry. This role is key to building and maintaining robust data systems that power business insights and operations.

Location: Houston, TX 77041 (Fully Onsite | Mon–Fri, 8 AM–5 PM CST)

Salary: $90K–$110K + bonus

Target Start: Late August–Early September

What You’ll Do:

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines across on-prem and cloud environments
• Integrate data via APIs (JSON), supporting reporting, analytics, and operational systems
• Support job cost tracking, scheduling, and field operations in a construction context
• Ensure data quality, accessibility, and interoperability across systems
• Collaborate closely with IT and field teams to improve data architecture

Must-Have Skills:

• 2+ years in a data engineering role
• Strong SQL skills (Microsoft SQL Server)
• Experience with APIs and data in JSON format
• Experience with both cloud and on-prem systems (non-negotiable)
• Excellent communication; team-oriented with a humble, driven mindset

Nice-to-Haves:

• Industrial or construction industry experience
• Background or degree in civil engineering

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Civil Engineering preferred (not required with relevant experience)
• Relevant SQL or data certifications a plus
