Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc. (SGA) is seeking a Data Engineer for a Right to Hire opportunity with one of our premier Insurance clients in Hartford, CT.
We're looking for a hands-on Data Engineer to join a high-performing team focused on delivering meaningful business value through custom data and software solutions. This individual will work closely with both technology and investment professionals in a fast-paced agile environment, helping solve real-world business problems through modern data engineering practices.

What You'll Be Doing:
• Build and maintain data assets and scalable data pipelines aligned with modern software development principles for analytical consumption
• Partner with technical teams and business stakeholders to gather requirements and define best practices around data storage, transformation, and usage
• Design, develop, automate, and support enterprise ETL processes
• Create logical and physical database models and database descriptions
• Modify and enhance existing databases and data management systems
• Troubleshoot issues, test databases/programs, and implement necessary fixes and improvements
• Work collaboratively within an agile team environment to deliver high-quality solutions
What We're Looking For:
• Experience working with database technologies
• Strong understanding of ETL processes and data movement concepts
• Experience with at least one scripting language
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to work effectively in collaborative environments
• Passion for working with data and helping drive data-driven business decisions
• Exposure to or knowledge of GenAI concepts is a plus
• Understanding of object-oriented design principles is preferred
Additional Details:
• Hybrid schedule with onsite expectations in Hartford, CT three days per week (Tuesday through Thursday)
