Data Engineer - Hybrid

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Data Engineer for a Hybrid position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

This role will be part of a Data Strategy team leading a major Digital Transformation initiative. The ideal candidate will support the design and development of a strategic data platform on the Azure Cloud Platform, focusing on establishing a reference data system for securities and pricing data. This position requires a full stack developer with extensive experience in Python/PySpark and Azure cloud services.

Responsibilities:

• Actively participate in the development of a strategic data platform in close coordination with the client team
• Contribute to the establishment of a reference data system for securities and pricing data, later expanding to other data domains
• Follow internal development standards to contribute to the overall agenda of the Data Strategy team
• Implement solutions on the Azure Cloud Platform as part of a broker-dealer and swap-dealer entity

Requirements:

• 10+ years of relevant experience as a full stack Python/PySpark developer
• Proven experience as a Data Engineer with experience in Azure cloud
• Experience implementing solutions using Azure cloud services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Lake Gen 2, Azure Databases, Azure Data Fabric, API Gateway management, and Azure Functions
• Well versed with Azure Databricks
• Strong SQL skills with RDBMS or NoSQL databases
• Experience with developing APIs using FastAPI or similar frameworks in Python
• Familiarity with the DevOps lifecycle (git, Jenkins, etc.) and CI/CD processes
• Good understanding of ETL/ELT processes

Desired skills:

• Experience in the financial services industry, financial instruments, asset classes, and market data are a plus

Pay range: up to $78.18 per hour
