Role : Data Engineer - Python/Oracle/Spark

Location : CHARLOTTE, NC (Hybrid)

Salary : $58/hr

We are looking for a hands-on Data Engineering professional with strong experience in database technologies, Linux-based environments, Python-based data processing, DevOps deployment practices, and cloud/platform migration initiatives. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working across data engineering, application deployment, and migration programs, with the ability to collaborate across development, operations, and business teams.

Primary Skills

Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Database, including SQL development, performance tuning support, data analysis, and database migration-related activities.

Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments, including shell scripting, command-line troubleshooting, job execution, and environment-level support.

Strong programming experience in Python, with practical exposure to data manipulation and processing using Pandas and Polars.

Experience working with distributed data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark for large-scale data transformation and processing.

Working knowledge of source code management and CI/CD practices using GitLab.

Hands-on experience with deployment and release automation tools such as uDeploy and Harness.

Experience supporting application, database, or workload migration initiatives involving OCP / OpenShift Container Platform.

Ability to analyze existing applications, data pipelines, dependencies, and platform components to support migration planning and execution.

Strong troubleshooting skills across database, application, batch processing, and deployment layers.

Ability to work in an Agile delivery environment and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Secondary Skills

Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.

Exposure to Ab Initio ETL toolset and related data integration concepts would be highly advantageous.

Understanding of data warehousing, ETL/ELT processing, batch workflows, scheduling, and operational support processes.

Experience in migration, modernization, or platform upgrade programs involving legacy data systems would be a plus.

Good communication skills with the ability to document technical findings, migration steps, issues, and resolution details.
