Codeworks, an LRS company, is seeking a Data Engineer for a contract opportunity. This role offers the chance to apply your skills in support of meaningful work for one of our client partners.

Our client is seeking a Lead Data Analyst for part‑time support to assist with ad hoc Tableau reporting requests received via a Slack channel. This engagement supports continuity of reporting while the team recruits additional staff.

The role includes helping establish a practical reporting and consultation structure and providing availability during agreed‑upon part‑time hours aligned with Eastern and Central Time zones.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support ad hoc Tableau reporting requests from internal stakeholders
  • Maintain and support approximately 30 reports; three reports account for the majority of usage by HR staff
  • Work with data sources including SQL Server, Tableau Server, and Tableau Desktop
  • Access reporting environments through appropriate licenses and access controls following standard onboarding procedures
  • Handle sensitive HR data in accordance with data governance, privacy, and security policies

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide quantitative and qualitative data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and insights that inform business decisions
  • Create accurate, high‑quality analytical deliverables that support business outcomes and user needs
  • Develop forecasts, reports, dashboards, and visualizations to clearly communicate data insights
  • Apply analytics and metrics to improve processes and support informed decision‑making related to costs, risks, and performance
  • Deliver insights, reports, and recommendations to department leaders and business partners
  • Produce actionable reporting that highlights key performance indicators, operational opportunities, and root‑cause analysis
  • Apply data visualization and design best practices to all deliverables
  • Collaborate with partners to understand business processes, user needs, and documentation requirements
  • Apply and share analytical standards, methodologies, and best practices across teams
  • Support analytics products and reporting environments, including documentation, standards, and coordination with technology partners
  • Design and develop analytical solutions based on business needs and data findings
  • Provide consultative support to business partners and participate in cross‑functional initiatives as needed
  • Build constructive, trusted working relationships with stakeholders at varying levels of the organization
  • Use internal and external data sources to provide context and benchmarking insights
  • Share findings and insights to support organizational learning and informed decision‑making
  • Identify business requirements and contribute to the development of KPI frameworks
  • Apply analytical thinking, creative problem‑solving, and adaptability to evolving business needs
  • Demonstrate openness to learning, curiosity, and working through evolving or unclear requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, Business, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • Professional experience in analytics, data analysis, or related fields
  • Hands‑on experience performing data analysis, reporting, and insight development
  • Experience applying statistical or analytical methods to support business decisions
  • Experience with analytical tools such as SQL, Excel, SAS, SPSS, R, or similar technologies
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Ability to gather, analyze, and synthesize data from multiple sources to support business questions
  • Ability to clearly communicate analytical insights to both technical and non‑technical audiences

The base range for this contract position is $30.00 - $45.00 per hour, depending on experience. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all U.S. locations. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors.
