Job Details
- Lead and mentor a team of Data Engineers, providing technical guidance, coaching, and day-to-day leadership.
- Design and evolve the company's enterprise data architecture, ensuring it is scalable, secure, and built for long-term growth.
- Build and optimize modern data pipelines that move data reliably across multiple business systems.
- Drive the organization's migration and adoption of a modern cloud-based data platform while improving existing Azure-based data solutions.
- Partner closely with AI engineers and business leaders to deliver the data infrastructure needed for analytics and AI initiatives.
- Establish engineering standards, best practices, and governance around data quality, modeling, documentation, and deployment.
- Make architectural decisions around data modeling, medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold), semantic models, and platform scalability.
- Lead sprint planning, project execution, and delivery using Azure DevOps while balancing multiple priorities.
- Work directly with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into practical technical solutions.
- Identify opportunities to improve performance, reliability, automation, and operational efficiency across the data platform.
What We're Looking For
- Experience leading Data Engineering teams
- Strong hands-on experience building modern cloud-based data platforms, preferably within Azure
- Experience with enterprise data warehousing, lakehouse, or cloud analytics environments
- Strong understanding of data architecture, ETL/ELT pipelines, dimensional modeling, and data integration
- Strong SQL skills and experience with modern data engineering technologies
- Knowledge of layered data architectures, semantic modeling, and enterprise data governance
- Experience with Agile development and project management tools
- Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to balance architecture and strategy with hands-on technical problem-solving
