Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented
Invoice, Pricing & Ad Sign Data Entry Clerk to help maintain accurate product costs, retail prices, profit margins, vendor invoices, and promotional signage for our supermarket.
Our store receives invoices from multiple vendors daily. This position will review invoices, verify that products are properly checked in, update costs and retail prices in our
NCR Advanced Back Office (ABO) system, monitor margins, and create promotional and special-price signs for the store.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and process vendor invoices daily
- Make sure all invoices are properly received and checked in
- Enter and update invoices in NCR Advanced Back Office (ABO)
- Compare new vendor costs with existing costs in the system
- Identify vendor cost increases and decreases
- Update product costs and retail prices when necessary
- Monitor gross profit margins and identify items with low or incorrect margins
- Verify UPCs, quantities, pack sizes, departments, costs, and retail prices
- Catch pricing errors, missing invoices, duplicate invoices, and other discrepancies
- Notify management of significant cost increases or margin problems
Ad Signs & Promotions
- Create professional special-price and promotional signs for products throughout the store
- Create signs for weekly specials, weekend specials, manager specials, holiday promotions, and other sales
- Make sure promotional signs show the correct item, size, price, and sale dates
- Print and organize signs for different departments
- Replace expired or incorrect promotional signs
- Coordinate with management and department managers on upcoming specials
- Help create promotional pricing and signage based on current costs and desired margins
- Maintain consistency and accuracy across store signage
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working with numbers, percentages, costs, and margins
- Good computer and data-entry skills
- Ability to work accurately with a large number of invoices and products
- Basic understanding of cost, retail price, gross profit, and profit margin
- Grocery store, retail, receiving, bookkeeping, pricing, or invoice experience preferred
- NCR Advanced Back Office (ABO) experience is a plus
- Microsoft Excel experience is a plus
- Basic experience creating signs, flyers, or promotional materials is a plus
- Must be organized, dependable, and able to work independently
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who does more than simply enter numbers. This person should be able to
catch mistakes, recognize cost changes, protect margins, and make sure our advertised prices are accurate.
For example, if a product’s cost increases from $10 to $12, the employee should notice the increase, review the current selling price and margin, and bring it to management’s attention or update the pricing as directed.
Accuracy is extremely important because incorrect costs, prices, invoices, or promotional signs can directly affect store profitability and customer satisfaction.
