Job Details

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Data Entry Clerk to support daily accounting and administrative operations. This role is responsible for accurately entering, verifying, and maintaining financial and operational data while assisting the accounting team with routine clerical tasks. The ideal candidate is highly organized, enjoys working with numbers, and takes pride in maintaining accurate records in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately enter high volumes of financial and operational data into accounting and business systems.
  • Review documents for accuracy, completeness, and proper coding before data entry.
  • Assist with processing invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports.
  • Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable with data entry, payment application, and customer/vendor record maintenance.
  • Maintain and update customer, vendor, and account information.
  • Perform account reconciliations and resolve data discrepancies as directed.
  • Scan, organize, and electronically file financial documents.
  • Generate reports and spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel.
  • Assist with month-end close activities by preparing reports and supporting documentation.
  • Respond to internal requests for information and retrieve records as needed.
  • Ensure confidentiality and accuracy of financial information.
  • Provide general administrative support to the accounting and finance team.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and data accuracy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience in data entry, administrative support, or an accounting-related role.
  • Exposure to accounting functions such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, invoicing, billing, or reconciliations preferred.
  • Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with ERP or accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar) is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential financial information.
