Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for an experienced Data Entry Clerk for our client, a leading nonprofit healthcare organization! This is an onsite, contract opportunity based onsite in Pinellas Park, FL. Hours are Mon - Fri (8-5pm)

POSITION OVERVIEW

Play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of patient information within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Responsible for reviewing, validating, and reconciling demographic, clinical, enrollment, insurance, and provider data across multiple healthcare systems to support exceptional patient care, regulatory compliance, quality reporting, and reimbursement accuracy. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment where accuracy and confidentiality are essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review, validate, and reconcile patient demographic, insurance, enrollment, provider, and clinical information across multiple healthcare systems.

  • Investigate and resolve data discrepancies between EMR, claims, payer, referral, scheduling, and ancillary systems to maintain data integrity.

  • Perform routine audits to identify duplicate records, missing documentation, and other data quality issues.

  • Collaborate with clinical, registration, revenue cycle, health information management, quality, and care coordination teams to resolve documentation and data concerns.

  • Maintain accurate records of reconciliation activities and complete assigned work queues within established service level expectations.

  • Support EMR system implementations, data migrations, testing, and process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.

  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS, state, federal, and organizational privacy and documentation standards.

  • Contribute to organizational quality initiatives by maintaining accurate EMR documentation that supports patient care, regulatory reporting, and reimbursement.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; healthcare-related education or LPN experience is a plus.

  • 2+ years of data entry experience preferred, ideally in a healthcare environment.

  • Experience working within an Electronic Medical Record (EMR/EHR) charting experience is needed.

  • Familiarity with data validation, reconciliation, auditing, or documentation review processes.

  • Understanding of healthcare documentation standards, HIPAA, and regulatory compliance requirements.

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve data discrepancies.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency with EMR/EHR platforms, Microsoft Office, and other healthcare information systems.

  • If offered the position, a background check will be required that involves:

  • A Level 2 fingerprint-based background check initiated through the FL Clearinghouse.

  • Submitting fingerprints and having a photo taken by an approved Livescan service provider.

  • Receiving an eligibility determination before starting employment in a regulated facility.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

This contract position offers an hourly rate up to $18/hr, commensurate with experience. The organization provides a robust benefits package that includes comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
