DATA ENTRY TECHNICIAN
Salary may be negotiable within the range listed above, based on position requirements and successful candidates qualifications, subject to appropriate authorization.
OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
This recruitment will establish an open eligible list that will be used to fill current and future Data Entry Technician positions. The eligible list established may also be used to fill positions in similar and/or lower classifications throughout the County of Orange.
DEADLINE TO APPLY

THE AGENCY
The immediate Data Entry Technician vacancy is within the Office of the District Attorney; however, future Data Entry Technician vacancies may arise in other agencies based on business need. Agencies where Data Entry Technician vacancies may occur include, but are not limited to Registrar of Voters, Probation, Social Services Agency, or other County departments.
THE OPPORTUNITY
The County of Orange is seeking motivated, detail-oriented Data Entry Technicians to accurately and efficiently enter data into computerized systems. As a continuing, primary responsibility, the incumbent uses a keyboard or data entry terminal to enter alpha and numeric data; reviews documents for completeness, accuracy and consistency with procedures prior to entry; extracts data from documents and codes; batches, and routes documents for processing. The Data Entry Technician also generates reports, charts, and graphs; operates peripheral equipment such as scanners, printers, and disk drives; may act as a lead worker or assist in training new staff.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical and clerical skills. To be successful in this role, candidates must prove expertise in the following areas:
Data Entry & Call Summary: Ability to listen to audio recordings and calls, and accurately summarize and enter the relevant data into computerized systems.
Data Reading & Entry: Ability to read data from source documents and enter it accurately into the applicable system.

RECRUITMENT PROCESS
Applicants who have demonstrated meeting the minimum and/or desirable qualifications based on their responses to the supplemental question(s) will be invited to participate in one or more job-related assessments.
Application Screening (Refer/Non-Refer)
Applications and supplemental responses will be screened for qualifications that are highly desirable and most needed to successfully perform the duties of this job. Only those applicants that meet the qualifications as listed in the job bulletin will be referred to the next step.
Online Assessment (Un-proctored, Weighted 100%)
Applicants will be notified of their test date and access code, if applicable. After the assessment is completed and scored, only those applicants who are most competitive will move forward to the next step in the recruitment process.
Application Screening by Human Resources Services (HRS)
After the assessment is completed, applications will be screened for qualifications that are highly desirable and most needed to successfully perform the duties of this job. Only the names of candidates whose qualifications were verified will be referred to the next step regardless of their score on the assessment.
Eligible List
Once the assessment has been completed, HRS will establish an eligible list of candidates. Candidates placed on the eligible list may be referred to a selection interview to be considered for present and future vacancies.
Based on the Countys needs, the selection procedures listed above may be modified. All candidates will be notified of any changes in the selection procedures.
