Job Description

The Associate Data Integration Specialist is responsible for maintaining, enriching, and improving the quality of bibliographic and library catalog data across the organization's products and services. This role combines data analysis, ETL processes, AI-assisted metadata enrichment, reporting, and data quality management to ensure accurate, complete, and reliable library records.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with software development teams, operational stakeholders, and product leaders to identify data issues, improve catalog integrity, support reporting initiatives, and contribute to the training and evaluation of AI-powered cataloging and metadata management tools. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for data quality and continuous improvement.

Candidates must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. The company does not provide visa sponsorship or support work authorization transfers for this position.

Job Responsibilities

• Analyze, validate, maintain, and enhance large-scale library catalog and metadata repositories.

• Enrich bibliographic records using AI-assisted workflows and data transformation processes.

• Design, execute, and support ETL processes to ingest, normalize, and improve catalog data from multiple sources.

• Ensure metadata quality, consistency, and compliance with library standards and best practices.

• Monitor data integrity and proactively identify opportunities to improve catalog completeness and discoverability.

• Investigate, diagnose, and resolve inaccurate, duplicate, incomplete, or inconsistent catalog data.

• Perform root cause analysis on recurring data quality issues and recommend corrective actions.

• Develop and implement data validation and quality assurance processes to reduce future errors.

• Collaborate with operational teams to resolve customer-reported data issues.

• Create and deliver ad hoc reports, dashboards, and data analyses to support business and operational objectives.

• Analyze catalog growth, data quality trends, and system performance metrics.

• Present findings, recommendations, and actionable insights to management and stakeholders.

• Partner with software development teams to identify application defects that impact data quality.

• Document data-related bugs and provide detailed analysis to support troubleshooting and remediation.

• Participate in testing and validation of system enhancements and fixes affecting metadata quality.

• Support the development of data quality monitoring and validation tools.

• Assist with training, evaluation, and continuous improvement of AI agents used for metadata enrichment and catalog maintenance.

• Review AI-generated outputs for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with business rules.

• Develop training datasets, testing procedures, and feedback mechanisms to improve AI performance.

• Document AI performance issues and collaborate with development teams to enhance results and workflows.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Science, Library Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.

 

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in data analysis, data quality management, library systems, or a related analytical role.

• Experience working with large datasets and ETL processes.

• Experience with library systems, bibliographic metadata, MARC records, authority records, or related library standards.

• Familiarity with AI/ML tools, prompt engineering, or AI training workflows.

• Experience with Python, scripting languages, or data transformation tools.

• Knowledge of data governance and data quality frameworks.

• Experience with business intelligence platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.

• Understanding of API integrations and data exchange formats including JSON, XML, and CSV.
