Under the supervision of the Associate Director of UF Research Information Services, the candidate will manage data, perform analysis and report on metrics for research-related projects. The candidate will be involved in the specification, design, implementation, testing and documentation of diverse data systems and tools. The candidate will provide reports and data visualizations that help drive project decisions.

Job Description:

Data Management
The candidate will work with an analytics team to help manage research related data and reporting systems from multiple research metadata providers that include information using a variety of database and statistical software tools (e.g., SQL, R). The candidate will assist in the design, development, testing and documentation of data file systems to ensure reproducibility and continuity of service. The candidate will contribute to software code (e..g, C#, Python) to aid in the extraction, transformation, and loading of data between systems.

Data Analysis
The candidate will help conduct data analyses, write statistical programming code for software such as R, Python Pandas, or SPSS, and participate in the interpretation of results to be presented to management. The candidate will work under department guidelines for analysis to develop manuals and procedures to conduct analysis of various data systems.

Data Reporting
The candidate will provide data summaries and reporting using various software tools including Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, and SQL. The candidate will utilize data visualization tools such as PowerBI or Tableau to generate output for reporting of research metadata. The candidate will work with team members to create presentations in PowerPoint, web portals, dashboards, or similar visualization system.

The candidate will perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area.

Preferred:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Economics, Statistics, Information Systems, Applied Math, Business Administration, Journalism, or Educational Technology.
Experience using statistical and database software such as R, SQL, SAS, and/or SPSS in addition to Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Advanced Microsoft Excel experience such as pivot tables and charting is preferred.
Knowledge of data visualization and framework tools such as PowerBI, Redash, Tableau, Cognos Analytics, Adobe XD, Visio, and Figma.
Programming experience and the ability to construct and analyze queries, and merge datasets.
Maintains knowledge of structure and location of various available data sources to assist in the creation of metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Ability to perform analysis of disparate datasets and generate reports to UF Research leadership and relevant customers for various projects in research.
