Data Quality Analyst

We are seeking three Data Quality Analysts for multi-year engagements with a foremost Healthcare IT Group. The Data Quality Analysts will be responsible for the modelling and testing of data extracted by MS SQL queries from ETL and databases processes.

Overview of Technical Requirements:

• Hands on experience in writing SQL queries to generate reports, extract data from multiple databases for data mapping and analysis.
• Strong experience in Data Analysis, Data Migration, Data Cleansing, Transformation, Integration, Data Import, and Data Export using multiple ETL tools such as SSIS.
• Experience in testing and writing SQL and PL/SQL statements - Stored Procedures, Functions, Triggers, and packages.
• An expert on delivering efficient and advanced Visualizing business solution through Microsoft Power BI.
• Sound knowledge of reporting tools such as SQL and Access for underlying database tables and resolve data issues.
• Excellent experience in Data profiling, Data mining with querying and mining large datasets to discover transition patterns and examine financial data.
• Excellent in creating various artifacts for projects which include specification documents, data mapping and data analysis documents.
• Experienced working with Excel Pivot and VBA macros for various business scenarios.
• Create database Triggers, Stored Procedures, Exceptions to perform calculations when retrieving data from the 9 TBs databases.
• Involved in defining the source to target data mappings, business rules, business, and data definitions.
• Responsible for defining the key identifiers for each mapping/interface.
• Responsible for defining the functional requirement documents for each source to target interface.
• Documented, clarified, and communicated requests for change requests with the requestor and coordinate with the development and testing team.
• Creation of ad-hoc reports via SAS and SQL and used SAS PROC SQL Pass through Facility to work with DB2 database.
• Use SSIS for (ETL) extraction, transformation and loading data from heterogeneous source systems into target database.
• Develop stored procedures, functions, packages and DB triggers extending the functionality and for retrieving the data from the database for solving complex queries.
• Conduct unit testing for Tableau reports for data validation and data verification by scripting in SQL Server.
• Develop Tableau visualizations and dashboards using Tableau Desktop.
• Identify the data issues and risks based on the data profiling and requirement documents analysis.
• Query writing, Data correction, data analysis and Query optimization and tuning
• Candidates must possess excellent analytic and problem-solving skills and have the tenacity to discover hard-to-find defects and manage them until closure. He/she will be required to collaborate and communicate effectively in a team environment, as well as work and think independently.

Responsibilities:

• Develop efficient and effective qualitative methods, measures, and guidelines to continuously improve quality processes and practices.
• Perform extensive backend (preferably SQL server or other RDBMS) testing, writing medium to complex SQL scripts to validate data between multiple sources.
• Hands on experience with backend database testing along with ability to analyze and test different DB objects (Stored procedures, functions, views) that are used by web applications.
• Management and execution of test scenarios and test cases and, where possible, develop and execute automated test scripts to verify software functionality and adherence to business requirements.
• Experience with reports testing (e.g., Tableau) to ensure data credibility and accuracy of insights derived from the BI reports.
• Provide accurate report of test progress to the management team and follow up with development team on defects; participate in root cause analysis discussions for all defects.
• Analyze the business requirements, write test scenarios and execute the test cases.
• Meet aggressive deadlines while also ensuring quality changes are released into production.
• Efficient in performing data analysis with large datasets and capable of solving loosely defined problems.
• Perform various types of testing, including functional, Load, Regression, and Integration
• Ability to extract insights from data, which involves a level of analytical comprehension and manipulation.
• Manage and execute the creation and distribution of data quality reports.
• Work with development team to correct data quality errors.
• Determine root cause for data quality errors and make recommendations for long-term solutions.
• Resolve all internal data exceptions in a timely and accurate manner.
• Comply with the project standards on testing policies, criteria, strategy, and procedure.
• Working experience in the HealthCare industry is highly desirable.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or similar is required.
• A minimum of 2 years' QA experience in backend manual testing.
• Extensive backend (SQL server or other databases) testing and data analysis experience.
• Strong proficiency with writing SQL queries and analyzing datasets.
• Demonstrated experience with Tableau reports testing, Tableau Desktop, Server, Prep/Conductor, data connectors, and other Tableau add-ons.
• Good to have hands on experience of using data analytics, data visualization tools such as Tableau.
• Experience testing standalone, web, backend systems and/or mobile applications.
• Expertise in testing methodologies, test plans and test case development.
• Working experience in a data science related environment with strong knowledge of Statistics/Heuristics.
• Well versed with defect reporting process.
