Data / Reporting Analysts

Conduct data analysis in support of a variety of analytic solutions. Capture, develop, and document data definitions, business rules, and data quality requirements. Create and produce forecasts, reports, ad hoc requests, dashboards, etc. Interpret data, analyze results, and provide insights to determine operational impact, trends, and opportunities. Develop reports and deliverables for management and communicate with all levels of stakeholders. Identify and define both process and data improvements. Ensure compliance with deliverable reporting requirements by performing quality data audits and analysis.

Responsibilities

Data / Reporting Analyst, IV

  • Conducts data analysis in support of a variety of analytic solutions.
  • Performs budgetary, financial, and analytic reporting to support organizational goals and objectives.
  • Supports University of Utah affiliates and VA research investigators with budget formulation, execution, and analysis.
  • Maintains historical financial data, analyzes trends for forecasting, and validates budgetary estimates.
  • Captures, develops, and documents data definitions, business rules, and data quality requirements.
  • Creates and produces forecasts, reports, ad hoc requests, and dashboards.
  • Interprets data and analyzes results to provide insights on operational impact, trends, and opportunities.
  • Develops reports and deliverables for management and communicates effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Identifies and defines opportunities for process and data improvements.
  • Ensures compliance with deliverable reporting requirements by conducting quality data audits and analysis.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert and advanced individual contributor.
  • Performs highly complex work independently, exercising extensive latitude for independent judgment.

Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 8 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 6 years of directly related work experience.

This is an Advanced-Level position in the General Professional track.

Minimum Qualifications

EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
