Position Summary

SigmaCorps Solutions is seeking a Data Scientist to perform independent analysis of Organic Counter-Small Unmanned Aircraft System vendor data deliverables. This role applies Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability methodology in accordance with the DoD RAM Guide to validate vendor-reported reliability and availability metrics and identify potential performance issues as the program scales toward organic support.

Key Responsibilities

•       Conduct independent analysis of O-CsUAS vendor-provided data deliverables to confirm accuracy, validate performance, document trends, and identify issues.

•       Perform Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) analysis including Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS); Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA); Mean Time to Repair (MTTR); Mean Time Between Critical Failures (MTBCF); and Operational Availability (Ao) for O-CsUAS in accordance with the DoD RAM Guide.

•       Prepare the Engineering Studies/Data Analysis technical report deliverable for the O-CsUAS program.

•       Support the Monthly Status Report with O-CsUAS performance metrics and trend summaries.

•       Coordinate with the Fixed Site Data Scientist on methodology consistency and cross-program insights.

•       Coordinate with the Database Management Analyst on data extracts and reporting infrastructure.

•       Identify emerging reliability or availability risks; recommend corrective or preventive actions.

•       Contribute to the Configuration Management-governed RAM Standard Operating Procedure.

Qualifications

•       One (1) or more years of experience in data analysis, statistics, or reliability engineering.

•       Familiarity with the DoD RAM Guide and basic reliability methodologies (FRACAS, FMEA, MTTR, MTBCF, Ao).

•       Proficiency with Python, R, or comparable data analysis languages; strong SQL and Excel skills.

•       Strong written communication skills.

•       Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Statistics, Operations Research, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.

Preferred Skills

•       Prior experience supporting Counter-UAS or air defense programs.

•       Experience with Weibull analysis, reliability growth, or Bayesian methods.

•       Military/DoD background preferred; veteran strongly preferred.

Education

Bachelor's degree required. Additional technical training or certifications in a related field are a plus.

Working Conditions

•       Standard office and warehouse environments at the SigmaCorps facility in Stafford, VA (within 5 road miles of MCB Quantico via Russell or Fuller Gates).

•       CONUS and OCONUS travel may be required for test events, Product Manager meetings, and audit support.

•       Work is conducted within SigmaCorps' ISO 9001:2015-certified Quality Management System.

•       Facility operates with active Top Secret Facility Clearance and Secret safeguarding.

Security Clearance Requirements

This position requires an Active SECRET security clearance. Candidates must be eligible to receive and use a Common Access Card (CAC). Classified handling responsibilities are executed in compliance with 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM), DoDI 5200.01, and the SigmaCorps DD-254.
