What You Will Do
- Build, maintain, and enhance forecasting models utilizing time-series approaches such as ARIMA/SARIMA and Prophet to support demand planning and inventory decisions.
- Develop and contribute to optimization models using advanced tools including XGBoost, scikit-learn, PyTorch, and tidymodels.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze large datasets effectively.
- Translate analytical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for non-technical stakeholders, focusing on business outcomes like cost savings and improved decision-making.
- Collaborate closely with engineers and cross-functional partners to integrate models into production workflows.
- Identify and pursue opportunities where data science can create measurable impacts, even in undefined areas.
Ideal Candidate Background
- 2–8 years of hands-on experience as a Data Scientist, with a focus on building and deploying models in a professional setting.
- Demonstrated experience in supply chain analytics, including inventory management, demand planning, or stockout reduction, with a strong grasp of time-series forecasting.
- Proficient in SQL, capable of writing complex queries to analyze large datasets independently.
- Strong programming skills in Python or R, with familiarity in common modeling approaches and techniques.
- Excellent analytical problem-solving skills, able to decompose vague business questions into structured analytical frameworks.
Preferred
- Experience working in environments focused on physical goods, inventory, or logistics challenges, such as education publishing, retail, or consumer goods.
- A genuine interest in forecasting and optimization problems, with a commitment to long-term growth and mission alignment.
Compensation and Benefits
The base salary for this role ranges from $100K to $130K, with a focus on fostering a collaborative and impactful work environment that supports professional growth and development.
