As a senior or lead data scientist on the Telematics Research and Development (R&D) team, you'll develop data-driven algorithms that help us better understand driving behavior and vehicle motion. You'll work with high-frequency sensor data to improve the accuracy, reliability, and scalability of our telematics solutions, focusing on risk-related applications. In this role, you'll work independently to explore ambiguous technical problems, develop and validate algorithms, and communicate results clearly to both technical and non-technical partners.

Minimum qualifications

• A minimum of five years of relevant experience in Statistical/Quantitative Modeling and/or Machine Learning tools (R, Python, etc.) and in using various database tools (e.g. Hadoop, SQL) processing large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
• {OR} Bachelor's degree with quantitative focus in Econometrics, Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science or related field (e.g. Mathematics) and a minimum of two years of relevant experience in Statistical/Quantitative Modeling and/or Machine Learning tools (R, Python, etc.) and in using various database tools (e.g. Hadoop, SQL) processing large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
• {OR} Master's degree or higher with quantitative focus in Econometrics, Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science or related field (e.g. Mathematics).

Preferred skills

• Advanced background in physical science: physics, applied mathematics, engineering, or a related technical field.
• Strong foundation in data science and machine learning, with ability to turn complex data into robust, practical product features.
• Experience with time-series data, signal processing, sensor data, or statistical modeling, developing and evaluating algorithms using real-world data.
• Strong Python skills and familiarity with GIT, GNU/Linux, and CLI-based development environments, with experience with scalable data-processing workflows or large datasets.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with interest in applying technical and analytical methods to driving risk and telematics.

Compensation

• $89,600-$164,800/year depending on position level and experience
• Gainshare annual cash incentive program up to 30%-40% (depending on position level) of your eligible earnings, based on company performance.
