SYSTEMTEC is seeking a Data Security Analyst for a hybrid opportunity for candidates in Columbia, SC. Candidate will support enterprise cybersecurity operations by protecting sensitive organizational data through proactive monitoring, investigation, and risk management activities. The role will focus on data protection, insider risk, AI security, vendor security reviews, compliance support, and incident response while collaborating with both technical and business stakeholders to strengthen the organization's overall security posture.

Required Qualifications of the Data Security Analyst:

  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to provide sponsorship or work with Third-Party agencies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
  • CompTIA Security+, GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC), or a comparable cybersecurity certification is required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience supporting enterprise cybersecurity operations, including security monitoring, incident response, and risk analysis.
  • At least three (3) years of hands-on experience with Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Insider Risk Management, and data protection technologies.
  • Experience investigating security alerts, analyzing sensitive data access and movement, documenting findings, and escalating incidents in accordance with established procedures.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, information protection, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Experience supporting cybersecurity audits, compliance initiatives, and security documentation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Skills/Experience of the Data Security Analyst:

  • Microsoft SC-100, Microsoft SC-200, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Associate CISSP, or similar advanced cybersecurity certifications.
  • Experience with AI security technologies, including Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) platforms and Microsoft Copilot security.
  • Familiarity with Cortex or similar AI-driven security solutions.
  • Experience refining DLP policies, tuning insider risk alerts, or supporting enterprise data governance initiatives.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure security services, identity and access management, Conditional Access, and security automation or scripting.

Responsibilities of the Data Security Analyst:

  • Administer and monitor Data Loss Prevention (DLP) controls while investigating potential data exposure and unauthorized access events.
  • Review and triage security alerts, conduct investigations, document findings, and support incident response activities.
  • Monitor insider risk cases, analyze user activity, and recommend appropriate remediation and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Participate in vendor security assessments by reviewing third-party security documentation and identifying potential cybersecurity risks.
  • Support cybersecurity audits, compliance reviews, risk assessments, and security control validation activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve security processes, prepare security reporting, and promote cybersecurity awareness.

Work Location: Hybrid schedule based in Columbia, South Carolina.
