Leidos is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the Data Strategist role to support the United States Space Force (USSF) in the design, development, test, and deployment of defensive cyber capabilities. A successful candidate should have a deep understanding of defensive cyber technologies and policy, the relevant stakeholders and their equities, and be a leader and problem solver with a proven ability to deliver superior results as part of a high performing team in a fast-paced environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Spearhead strategic implementation of governance framework
- Create, facilitate, and ensure compliance with data quality standards to include implementation of data retention process and best practices
- Assess current infrastructure and data landscape holistically
- Analyze existing data infrastructure, landscape, and security posture to create a technical roadmap
- Build an action plan in a Microsoft tool that is executable by the US Space Force
- Ensure cross-functional collaboration by partnering with Government personnel, the customer, and teammates to support data infrastructure and mission needs.
Basic Qualifications:
- Requires BS and 6 - 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 4 - 6 years of prior relevant experience, additional years of experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree
- Data strategy thought leader leading the plan to collect, store, and analyze data.
- Ability to implement scalable target-state architecture that aligns data collection and retention with operational priorities
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Understanding of data security and access controls in accordance with the DoD and Air Force Data Strategy policies and procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with senior leaders
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work "in the weeds" with data
- Expert level understanding of data architecture principles
- Expert level understanding of data tiering and data retention processes and best practices
- Understanding at a high-level how to take an organization from legacy data management to ML/AI enabled data management
- Understanding data required for integration for Cloud and on-prem environments
- General big data understanding and high-level data requirements to populate a big data platform
- Requirements understanding of data warehouses and data lakes
- U.S. Citizen
- Current/active DoD Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Analytics Professional (CAP)
- IIBA Certification in Business Data Analytics (CBDA)
- Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)
- 7 to 10+ years of progressive experience in data strategy, business intelligence or analytics consulting
- Experience enabling and deploying advanced analytics with AI and ML
